Bienvenido a Puerto Rico!

I am very fortunate that my best friend from high school, Melissa, was able to join me on my first trip!  We both arrived in San Juan late on a Saturday afternoon.  We made our way to the apartment we were staying in in the Miramar neighborhood.
I rented a room for us in an apartment via Airbnb.  This was my first time using that website, and I'm happy to report that everything went well.  The apartment was exactly as described, our host, Carlos, was nice and easy to communicate with.  The best part?  It only cost us $34 a night!  Granted, it was very basic, a 4th floor walk up, no A/C, but we didn't need fancy.  We knew we'd be out and about for the most part, and just needed a safe, clean place to keep our things and to sleep and shower.  That's exactly what we got!

We decided to stay local for our first night, so we wandered around the Miramar area for a bit and discovered a great little tapas bar called Incendium.  Check out the cool ceilings!

We had our celebratory drinks and some small plates.  We loved the fish tacos so much, we ended up having 2 orders of them!  After some more relaxation, we walked down the block from our apartment and ate a delicious Peruvian dinner at Lima Restaurante.  Afterwards, being the party animals that we are, we went back to the apartment to go to sleep...
